about us

Our background and aims

At SEIDAM our aim is simple - to help provide an exciting science education experience for students of all ages studying science as well as for visitors attending science exhibitions of all types. We have over a decade of experience in providing products and services for all sorts of different science events and initiatives.

Whether your interest lies in science education, running outreach projects, making television or radio programmes, or organising lectures and events affiliated with science centres or museums, we have a range of innovative products and services to inspire your audiences.

We've been there!

Our staff have all worked for outreach projects and science centres, reaching audiences in schools, Universities, museums, and even city-centre shopping malls. We understand the importance of providing a dynamic visitor experience through interactive exhibits and displays.

We thrive on providing a lively audience experience through the presentation of science shows and lectures. Some science props need not be complicated, as our demo props and science in a suitcase ranges show.

Innovation through collaboration

Our larger scale apparatus is almost always stimulated by a collaboration between academia, science centres and also industry.

Through a range of unique projects at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Glasgow, which have brought together academic researchers, teachers, technicians and students, we have developed a suite of lecture demonstration apparatus which we call the Kelvin's Legacy range. The name is inspired by the famous physicist William Thomson (Lord Kelvin) who, while in the chair of Natural Philosophy at the University of Glasgow, pioneered

Lord Kelvin's last lecture in 1899

the use of lecture demonstrations and models to help teach physics to his students.
