Content Overview

The static electricity 1 suitcase contains a selection of rods and cloths to allow the generation of static electricity via friction. An electric fleas unit provides an effective demonstration of electrostatic forces at work. A gold-leaf-electroscope is provided to show how these forces can lead to the simple detection of static electricity. An electrophorus capable of generating upward of 20,000V is included as an example of a static electricity machine. Items which demonstrate the action of points and Brownian motion are included.

Graphics overview

A set of seven full colour A3 graphics laminates is included with the static electricity 1 suitcase. These graphics illustrate comprehensively how to use the various items in the case, and provide background information on key concepts and applications. With the help of the graphics, a complete show delivery can be scripted, and by presenters with no specific training in physics for example. The graphics also highlight links to related concepts in other cases for exanding the scope of presentations.
