"The monk Abbe Nollet used charged Leyden jars to pass electricity through his fellow monks - not because he was a prankster, but rather he wanted to judge by their reactions how fast electricity could travel!"

Content Overview

The static electricity 2 suitcase contains a miniature van der Graaff generator to demonstrate the accumulation of static electricity. A Leyden jar and discharge tongs are provided to show how varying levels of charge can be accumulated, leading into the idea of capacitance. A selection of electrostatic props is included for use with the van der Graaff generator to demonstrate electrostatic forces.

Graphics Overview

A set of six full colour A3 graphic laminates is included with the static electricity 2 suitcase. These graphics illustrate how to use the various items in the case, and provide some background information on key concepts and applications. The graphics also highlight links to related concepts in other cases for exanding the scope of your presentations. The graphics laminates have been designed with the non-specialist in mind, allowing presenters whose field is not necessarily electricity-related to put together a show delivery.
