This case can be used as a stand alone set of van der Graaff powered demonstrations, as well as a progression stage from static electricity 1 and/or static electricity 2. Demonstrations include basic charge transfer and electrostatic forces.

Content Overview

The case contains a medium-sized van der Graaff generator which is used to power the supplied accessories. These include a charge transfer prop, head of hair, Brownian motion simulator and fluorescent lamp. The van der Graaff generator is capable of causing a volunteer's hair to stand on end and aloing with the supplied discharge wand, will produce sparks up to around 60mm in length.

Graphics Overview

A set of six full colour A3 graphic laminates is included with the static electricity 3 suitcase. These illustrate how to use the various items in the case, and provide some background information on key concepts and applications. The graphics also highlight links to related concepts in other cases for exanding the scope of your presentations. The laminates have been carefully designed so that apresenter with no in-depth knowledge of electricity can use them to script and present a science show using the suitcase contents.
